Job Description Summary

The Director, Investor Relations will play a key role in advancing and expanding Mirati's investor relations objectives and tactics. This individual will lead the planning and execution of investor events and identify opportunities to refine and augment Mirati's narrative to the investment community to ensure the company's story is communicated clearly, consistently and transparently. This position will report to the Vice President, Corporate Affairs.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of investor and analyst events
  • Contribute to a range of written communications, including messaging, Q&A development, corporate presentations, earnings scripts, website content, etc
  • Work closely with senior leadership to prepare them for successful interactions with the investment community, and inform them of feedback from investor and analyst interactions
  • Inform Mirati's communication efforts through an in-depth understanding of how the company is perceived by both the buy-side and the sell-side communities
  • Manage and make recommendations to inform the IR calendar, including participation in investor events, road shows, earnings calls, scientific conferences
  • Work collaboratively with clinical, scientific, commercial and business functions to develop and identify opportunities to refine Mirati's overarching narratives
  • Collaborate with other key internal departments to ensure that messages inside and outside the company are consistent, accurate, well understood, and compliant with corporate policies and SEC regulations
  • Conduct investor targeting analyses to broaden Mirati's shareholder base and ensure investor relations activities have maximal value and impact
  • Maintain an awareness of the evolving competitive landscape within Mirati's peer group and industry in order to anticipate investor questions and concerns
  • Participate on select internal cross-functional committees, and partner with Corporate Affairs team members on executing ad hoc projects
  • Assist with Mirati's Disclosure Committee with responsibility for preparing meeting agendas/minutes, make recommendations for timing of disclosures and maintain the corporate disclosure calendar
  • Partner with other members of the Corporate Affairs team to advance the company's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) efforts and ensure those efforts are effectively communicated to the investment community
  • Manage investor relations budget and relationships with investor relations advisors, partners on investor outreach and other vendors

The successful candidate will be a highly organized, proactive, resourceful, self-motivated leader with a roll-up-the-sleeves mentality and strong sense of urgency.

They should possess a proven track record of setting, driving, and delivering on objectives and projects, and have demonstrated ability to successfully lead others.

Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated professional knowledge and skills in investor relations or corporate affairs within the healthcare industry
  • Knowledge of the biopharmaceutical industry, with an understanding of FDA and other key external stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Superior written and interpersonal communications skills
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Reputation as a respected, dynamic team player
  • Ability to influence, achieve results and advise senior leadership
  • Exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively within the department and across the enterprise
  • Proven ability to identify challenges and take initiative to identify solutions
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines and manage shifting priorities in a complex, rapidly changing environment
