As a chemistry intern, you will work at the bench alongside a knowledgeable mentor who will help guide you through the process of synthesizing, purifying and characterizing targeted molecule for drug programs. The internship offers a unique perspective into a top-class biotech company. Your Responsibilities

  • Under supervision, synthesize, isolate, purify and characterize small molecules.

  • Utilize modern synthetic and purification techniques.

  • Design viable synthetic routes and perform literature searches in support of research.

  • Collaborate closely with a broad group of scientists.

  • Maintain all appropriate legal and corporate standards for lab safety and hazardous material management; execute daily chemistry operations with an approach designed to minimize risks and hazard waste streams.

  • Help to maintain the lab instruments including HPLC, ISCO, lyophilizer etc.

  • Maintain lab notebook, instrument and inventory records in accord with department guidance and regulatory requirements.

What is Required

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a U.S. accredited university for the semester before and immediately following the internship.

  • Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree and have completed at least their sophomore year or be a graduate level student pursuing a master’s degree.

  • For Bachelor’s and master’s degree students, a major in Chemistry (or Chemistry-related field) who have taken or are currently enrolled in Organic Chemistry lectured and labs.

  • Applicants should be dependable, highly motivated, with a keen interest in chemistry research.

  • Must be deadline driven and have a high level of organizational and planning skills.

  • The ideal candidate exhibits strong analytical, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills; he or she also possesses the ability to work well in teams.

  • This is a part-time internship with about 20 working hour per week. The schedule could be flexible.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range:

$23.00 - $25.00 / hour
